WHAT TO PACK!!!
When coming to Coochiemudlo Island
and staying in a Quirky Cottage
Please pack these types of clothes and accessories ...
matching hat and gloves diamonty boots
evening purse ball gowns high heels ties & bow ties business shirts cuff links
tuxedo fox fur and expensive jewelery!!

And, as Gladys always says to Kevin,
"Don't forget your handky Daarl..."
Only joshing!
Coochie is extremely casual, though the boots would definitely catch a few smiles !!!

This is serious "stuff" from now on....
What food to pack...
Here are some ideas....
Spoil yourself with some really simple, yet, delicious treats while you are on holiday....
Why not try something totally new!! Give you and your taste buds a memorable experience.... like.... munching on pan fried brains
encrusted with macadamia nuts!! You will LOVE them!!!
Or stick with a few easy favourites,

Boiled baby potatoes with fresh Salmon fillets, for grilling on the barbie
Thick slices of honey baked ham, succulent spinach and big, juicy mushrooms to enjoy with your fresh eggs!!
Bring over some "easy" pancake mix or waffles to toast with mouth watering strawberries and blueberries marinated in hot butter, maple syrup and a slash of cointreau with fresh mascarpone for toppings!
Bring along some ooey gooey stinky cheeses , quince paste, fresh figs, fruit, bikkies and dips and good ol' "cheezles" and "chips" for nibbles
Please remember basic condiments and spreads like..,salt and pepper, sauces, jams and Mum, don't forget the vegemite!!
It's a very good idea to buy all your groceries from a supermarket
on the mainland, before you come. There is NO Supermarket, Deli or Bakery on the island, though we do have a corner store
called the Coochie "KIOSK" . It carries quite a reasonable supply of basic (black and gold or no name) products in case you forget anything, though it is more expensive and naturally has a lot less variety than Woolies or Coles, but still very convenient.
The Corner Store/KIOSK is great for....
hamburgers and chips
milk shakes hot dogs,
newspapers milk bread etc.
And you can also purchase those expensive,
toxic, lung destroying, hideously addictive, good for nothing, time wasters, that I still buy and passionately crave for, everyday!!!!
Kids, please take note from a sorry smoker....
It's definitely not cool to smoke!!! And anyone who says it is, is an absolute idiot!!!! Create some self esteem and courage from within and become a leader, a mentor, for kids your own age and younger. Be proud and strong to say
YES to health, wellbeing and things that do actually make you feel good inside. Say NO
to things that are bad for you or anyone else. Listen to your heart it always knows the truth!! Everyone deserves good and healthy things for their body, mind and soul, not utter trash!!!! Our noses would love aromatic aromas to smell, and our lungs long for fresh, clean air to breathe, not stinking smoke!!!
What do you think
What to pack for the Beach....
Your favourite
pair of
sunglasses
Beach bags
Swim wear...

For the Sun
Sun block, shade
Head protection

pack your favourite hat!
For on the Island.... Casual comfortable walking shoes. Shoes for tennis or golf. If you own surf shoes, it's a good idea to bring them along for walking the beach or even swimming.
As for what clothes to bring.... Casual and comfy. Clothes for the kids, should be "play" clothes, as they all get filthy having FUN!!!!
What to pack, in the winter time...
Even though Coochiemudlo is a sub-tropical island, during winter, we have been known to experience very cool evenings and mornings here.
There are reverse cycle air conditioners in all the cottages, as well as heaters, though sometimes guests choose not to use these appliances, to either help with the ozone or other personal reasons. Heating can be very drying on your skin and body. Anyway....
it is actually a good idea to pack bed socks winter pjs even throw in a
beanie or two
dressing gown, singlet and slippers, that way you will definitely stay comfy, cosy and....
" as snug as a bug in a rug".
You can also pretend to be your Great Grandmother or Grand father, without actually playing "dress ups" . Personal entertainment...
Bring along your favourite music, cds, and dvds, old cassettes,
Camera to capture those "precious" moments
For your personal use....
(extra)

Current book you are reading and glasses if you need them
Laundry Needs....
extra "front load" washing powder for the washing machine if you will be staying a while
What to pack in case it rains

Fruit and Veg...

Drinks Please remember, there is no bottle shop on Coochie. You must bring all your supplies with you
Petrol Make sure you fill up with gas on the mainland. There is NO service station on the island so please bring with you a can of petrol, if you are staying a few weeks!
